It seems to me that large companies are spending less on Quality Control than they used to. Has anyone else noticed this? Any products in particular?
I am in manufacturing and we have actually seen in increase in quality control, especially implementing the toyota lean concept, which reduces waste, in overproduction, motion, inventory, transportation, and processes.
Quality Control of Concrete On Site (Part 1) – Federal Highway Administration 1994 – Video VH-274 – Tests for on-site quality verification of concrete are demonstrated in this series of four tapes. Parts 1 and 2 show conventional control tests, with demonstrations of sampling methods, tests for temperature, and a very clear, detailed demonstration of the slump test (AASHTO T-119). Tests are shown for air content and unit weight, and procedures are given for forming cylinders and beams onsite for subsequent compressive and flexural strength tests.

For those that fimiliar with SIGARMS products. Do you think they have gone downhill in terms of quality? Lately I’ve notice a lot of people (mostly LE officers) talk about poor Quality Control of SIGARMS.
It seem like the US branch of SIG isn’t as high quality as the German branch (J.P. Sauer&Sohn)
I have never been a big fan of Sig.. But I have to agree they have gotten worse.

oh, how i wish J5 didn’t break up..
i’ve been listening to old dynamic duo albums lately. their 1st album is really the best hiphop album, not only in korea but possibly in the genre of hiphop entirely. usually if i have 2-3 songs that i like, i call that a good album, but in DD’s first album there wasn’t a song i didn’t like except for maybe one or two. and even after 6 years they sound not only relevant but better. than 99% of stuff that’s coming out these days. i might have some more blend coming up using their beats

Julio works as a Quality Control expert in a beverage
factory. The assembly line that he monitors produces about 20,000 bottles in a 24-hour period. Julio samples about 120 bottles an hour and rejects the line if he finds more than 1/50 of the sample to be defective. About how many defective bottles should Julio allow before rejecting the entire line?
I came up with 400.
But if Julio is working at a Beer bottling plant, then he probably will be totally wasted by the end of the second hour of work. Even if he is just sipping thats a 120 sips an hour. So if he works a normal 8 hour shift, and he passes out with 6 hours to go, that means there are going to be about 833.33 potential bad bottles of beer going out to be shipped every hour past the 2nd hour! thats just a damn shame is what that is. 5,000 bottles of beer going out to the unsuspecting public all because Julio couldn’t hold down his liquor.

What are some Quality Controls for soldering?
The key checks are temperature verification of the soldering equipment, Certificate of Conformance to confirm correct solder and flux quality, surface preparation to the correct standard and post soldering examination.
My uncle is looking to get a job as a usda food inspector or Quality Control manager for a food company here in california. He asked me if the job market was pretty good since we have a lot of agricultural stuff, but I’m not sure. Does anybody know how the market is for those types of jobs here? It can be anywhere in the state.
The job market is tight, as it is everywhere in the US. Some jobs are available, though, if you are patient.
